Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to WAN infrastructure and capacity, specifically focusing on the APAC region. Responsibilities include managing optical transport infrastructure and capacity delivery, overseeing large-scale network projects from inception to completion, engaging with external vendors, facilitating documentation review, assisting in infrastructure requirement planning, and collaborating with engineering teams to solve issues and present solutions to stakeholders and executives. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and excellent communication abilities. You'll work with cross-functional teams and ensure project status transparency.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience
2+ years program management experience
2+ years network engineering experience
Manage optical transport infrastructure
Lead cross-functional teams
Engage with external vendors

Good to have:

Experience with terrestrial/subsea optical network infrastructure
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Data-driven problem-solving approach

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in program management.
2 years of experience in network engineering or related technical roles in the telecommunications or internet industries.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in a project managing the deployment of terrestrial or subsea optical network infrastructure engineering design and construction projects.
Ability to multitask and prioritize with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a data-driven aptitude approach to solving complex issues.

Responsibilities

Manage optical transport infrastructure and capacity delivery within and into the APAC region.
Manage the delivery of large-scale network projects from inception through delivery, while leading cross-functional teams and ensuring stakeholders are aware of project status.
Engage with external vendors for outsourced network build services. Facilitate review and acceptance of vendor handover documentation.
Assist upstream planning, design, and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements, priorities, and delivery date expectations.
Engage with engineering staff to determine root causes and solutions and presenting the team's analyses, recommendations and approaches to stakeholders and executive management.
