Job Description

The UI/UX Game/UGC Designer will create clear UX flows and UI designs from layout to prototyping, rapid iteration and review, to final quality. They will work with 2D/3D software to create designs and game-ready assets, help drive a consistent visual language within the UI, and work in a fast-paced, rapidly iterative studio. The designer will also work on live service games including A/B testing UI flows and regular user feedback sessions and collaborate with tools and engine teams. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing free-to-play game interfaces and monetization features in a shipped game, with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX Design with at least 1 shipped game
  • Proven track record of communicating new design concepts and execution details
  • Experience designing free-to-play game interfaces and monetization
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with Unity and Unity canvas components
  • Online portfolio showing UI examples from shipped products
  • Game or interaction development experience across multiple surfaces
  • Experienced identifying, learning, and teaching new tools and techniques
Good to have:
  • Experience with User Generated Content tools
  • Experience working with pipelines that leverage AI for content creation
  • Experience working with TypeScript and React

Job Details

You are an experienced UI/UX Designer looking to enable the next generation of user generated games in mixed reality and Mobile. You have multiple years of experience designing and building interfaces in Unity Editor and are a key partner to the engineering team. You are a skilled communicator, adept at collaborating with the team to create, iterate, and finalize designs to make our user journey as clear as possible. You have a clear vision for what is needed to make complex interactions easy to learn and enjoyable to use on an ongoing basis. You value giving and receiving constructive feedback knowing that working together makes the best products.
UI/UX Game/UGC Designer - BigBox VR Game Studio Responsibilities
  • Create clear UX flows and UI designs from layout to prototyping, rapid iteration and review, to final quality
  • Work with 2D/3D Software packages (Photoshop, Figma, Unity, etc.) to create clear designs and game-ready assets
  • Help drive a consistent visual language within the UI and a standardized approach to implementation
  • Work in a fast-paced rapidly iterative studio
  • Work on live service games including A/B testing UI flows and regular user feedback sessions
  • Work with the art and engineering teams to guide novel and engine-efficient solutions for the UI
  • Collaborate with tools and engine teams to continually improve upon our custom workflows and technology
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX Design with at least 1 shipped live-service game
  • Proven track record of clearly communicating new design concepts and execution details in both technical and non-technical manners
  • Experience designing free-to-play game interfaces and monetization features in a shipped game
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with Unity and Unity canvas components
  • Online portfolio showing UI examples from shipped products for Free-to-Play and Live Service games
  • Game or interaction development experience across multiple surfaces (console, mobile, PC, MR)
  • Experienced identifying, learning, and teaching new tools and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with User Generated Content tools
  • Experience working with pipelines that leverage AI for content creation
  • Experience working with TypeScript and React
