Who are we hiring?   

Responsible for helping define, manage and maintain various aspects of the development of new content and experiences for Sphere Studios. The VP of Creative Development/ Experiences plays a crucial role in helping shape the studio’s content slate. This position involves identifying, tracking, developing and overseeing innovative projects that best leverage the capabilities of the Sphere’s immersive and experiential medium. The ideal candidate will possess the following: A deep understanding of storytelling and script development; a working knowledge of physical and technical film production;  keen curiosity and/or experience with new and immersive with excellent networking skills and a passion for driving creative excellence and innovation. 

What will you do?  

Creative Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, track and source new project ideas, scripts, and concepts aligned with the studio’s strategic vision and innovative medium. 
  • Collaborate with writers, directors, producers, and other creative partners to help refine and develop project concepts from inception through production.
  • Provide creative feedback and guidance to internal project teams, ensuring alignment with studio standards and objectives.
  • Assist in overseeing the development process, including script development, talent acquisition, and project execution.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key industry professionals, including talent, artists, agents, managers and other entertainment executives.
  • Contribute to the studio’s strategic planning by analyzing market trends, audience preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Support the studio’s creative direction and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Take direction on any assigned projects as part of the studio’s strategic goals 

Project Management: 

  • Maintain accurate and organized tracking documentation of all project submissions and communications.
  • Ability to manage project timelines and resources.
  • Monitor progress and address any issues or obstacles that arise during the development process.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, development progress, and industry insights to senior management. 

Collaboration and Coordination: 

  • Work closely with other departments and executives to ensure cohesive project execution. 
  • Facilitate communication with senior management to ensure project alignment and timely delivery. 

What do you need to succeed?  

  • Proven experience (10+ years) as a seasoned executive in a creative development role within the studio system/entertainment industry, including experience with project management, talent relations and film industry executives.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, script analysis and creative processes.
  • Passion for innovation and a fundamental understanding of immersive and experiential entertainment.
  • A keen eye for impactful creative material that fully maximizes the Sphere medium.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of the technical production and post production film process.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools for project management and creative development.
  • Highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities.
  • College degree or equivalent strongly preferred. 

 

Pay Range
$160,000$320,000 USD
