Apple is seeking an AI Data Scientist for its Sales and Business Development team in Cupertino, California. This role involves crafting, implementing, and operating analytical solutions to directly impact Apple Sales and customers. The Data Scientist will utilize predictive modeling, data visualization, and statistical analysis to build end-to-end solutions for internal stakeholders, leveraging sales performance data, market data, and external data. The position requires building and augmenting existing data solutions, innovating new data science projects, and creating analytic experiences that simplify data into insights and catalyze decision-making. The individual will lead and influence teams in translating business problems into data science models.
Must have:
  • Eagerness to learn and solve dynamic problems
  • Familiarity with vector similarity search, RAG, LLM prompt evaluation
  • Experience co-developing with software engineers in production
  • Ability to lead development projects from start to finish
  • Comfort with ambiguity and structuring complex analysis
  • Collaborate with business teams to improve reporting
  • 6+ years in Data Visualization, Data Science, or Data Analysis
  • Applied knowledge of statistical data analysis and predictive modeling
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analytics platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake)
  • Expertise with data visualization tools (Tableau, d3, plotly)
  • Proficiency in Python, Git, Notebooks, Dataiku, Streamlit
  • Strong time management and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis best practices
  • Ability to balance competing priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
Good to have:
  • Experience with observability tools for LLMs
  • Proven experience with LLMs and GenAI frameworks
  • Strong experience translating business questions into data solutions
  • Communicate results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with anomaly detection and causal inference models
  • Sound communication skills and ability to gain trust
  • Familiarity with embedding, retrieval algorithms, agents, and vector graphs
  • Advanced Degree (MS or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field
