Based in our Seoul office and reporting into the Vice President, Distribution of South Korea, this position will be responsible for providing pre and post sales marketing and publicity support across all feature film and TV series for Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Distribution in Korea.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Pre-Sales
Come up with brand & content positioning and sales strategy with Head of Korea identifying targets per each platform with specific objectives
Ideate with Vice President, Brand & Multichannel Marketing to formulate multichannel marketing & sales strategies to grow distribution sales, and special projects such as Catalogue Growth Initiative
Create, customize, localize and innovate sales pitch decks and catalogues for sales to pitch and engage clients. The pitch decks should cover UIP, brand & content positioning, drafting and programming ideas
Facilitate the execution of digital and marketing activations in support of B2B and B2C initiatives, including the B2B outreach campaign (eDM using Sales Force, deskdrop), Spotlight campaign, and working with the digital team in LA to leverage our own FB and IG account for pre- and post-sales awareness campaign.
Work with research to identify research projects for each territory
Plan and organize trade events and local content showcase
Plan and execute trade advertising
Copywriting (social media post and others)
Manage B2B communication channel such as Kakao to keep clients updated of our content and keep our content top-of-mind.
2. Post-Sales
Boost product awareness, buys, rating and viewership; build our brand.
Ideate with Vice President, Brand & Multichannel Marketing to formulate multichannel marketing strategies to ensure our content has a high ROI on clients’ platform
Bespoke marketing campaign and provide clients with best-in-class marketing support
Work with LA publicity team to identify and facilitate talent access opportunities for clients, manage all press requests and outreach, track coverage across each market and manage talent tours to garner maximum exposure of talent/series in the market.
Conduct marketing on-boarding meetings for new clients. Set up clients with Connect access.
Secure top placement of our content on clients’ platforms across business
Plan and execute digital paid media campaign.
Compile post campaign reports with performance and results analysis.
Manage and customize promotional assets, including VAMs, to ensure all major clients in every window have something special (and exclusive if possible) to promote our content.
Liaise and lobby home office marketing to secure and create content assets that can be leveraged for placement on/off store and promotions for downstream
Work with local SPRI team on retargeting paid media campaign to drive transactional revenue.
3. Other
Develop and manage local marketing budget with Head of Korea
Manage external vendors for marketing collateral/premiums/desk drops and design work
Manage translation house and quality control of all translation work
Ad hoc projects where required
Collaborate with Sony’s sister companies (SPRI, Sony Electronics, Sony Music, Sony PlayStation) for One Sony activities.
Support local production projects in Korea when required.
Candidate Requirements:
University graduate majoring in marketing
Typically 5 - 8 years’ Television/Movie/Entertainment/Tech Companies marketing and publicity experience across traditional as well as digital media.
The ideal candidate should understand the difference between B2B and consumer marketing.
Must possess a strong analytical skills and data driven decision making.
A working knowledge of the new media landscape.
Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
Must be solution-oriented
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in the English plus another language.
Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a team-player attitude.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
