Collection Intern

Job Description:

• Support the collection team and Customer support team with collection calls
• Highlight issues that are preventing timely payment and collaborate with VP of Finance and Revenue Manager to enable resolution of those issues with an aim of prevention of the issue reoccurring.
• Fully engage with Stakeholders to understand and advise on complex billing and collection issues.
• Work with third party vendors to develop and improve billing procedures and to enhance billing and collection efficiency.
• Prepares and distributes Billing and Collection reports to leadership, detailing AR and other metrics as needed.
• Support the monthly close cycle.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our collections efforts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive customer relationships. Key Responsibilities:

• Understand the Product: Gain a thorough understanding of our SaaS offerings, including features, benefits, and pricing models.
• Customer Communication: Utilize effective communication techniques to interact with customers regarding overdue payments.
• Payment Systems: Familiarize yourself with our payment processing systems and tools, such as billing software and CRM platforms.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment statuses in our database.
• Follow-Up Protocols: Adhere to protocols for following up with customers, including timing and frequency of reminders.
• Dispute Resolution: Handle disputes and escalations professionally and efficiently.
• Reporting: Assist in generating and analyzing reports on collection activities and outstanding accounts.
• Compliance: Ensure all collection activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve issues and improve collection processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay open to feedback and continuously seek ways to improve your skills and the efficiency of our collections process.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
