Onward Search is seeking a Brand Manager for a Fortune 500 Financial Services client in Chicago or New York. This is a 7-12 month contract with potential for extension. The role is hybrid (3 days in office, including Monday or Friday). Responsibilities include championing brand purpose and strategy across go-to-market initiatives, managing advertising and content production, partnering with business and creative teams, leveraging market research, ensuring legal compliance, and providing project support. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of marketing experience, agency experience, strong business acumen, excellent project management skills, and strong communication skills. Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.

We’re looking to hire a Brand Manager for a Fortune 500 Financial Services client.  Teams are very collaborative and have a passion for creating cutting edge customer experiences.  
 
Our direct Fortune 500 client is looking for someone to join the Marketing team to drive brand solutions that deliver on business and marketing objectives. This is a 7-12 – month contract + extension. The team is located in Chicago or New York, NY and the role is hybrid 3x week - must include Monday or Friday. Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.


Brand Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Champion brand purpose, strategy, and guidelines across all go-to-market initiatives.
  • Manage the production and implementation of advertising and content across Owned Channels (web, direct mail, email, etc.), including photoshoots.
  • Partner closely with business teams, creative agencies, and marketing teams to develop cohesive campaigns.
  • Leverage market research to inform creative strategies.
  • Provide broad project support Business initiatives, including Paid and Owned channels
  • Ensure all campaigns adhere to legal, compliance, and risk requirements with necessary approvals.



Brand Manager Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of marketing experience with a proven track record in brand strategy, marketing communications, and/or advertising execution.
  • Experience working in or directly with advertising agencies highly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate marketing strategies into impactful campaigns and deliver measurable results.
  • Proven experience managing internal and external creative agencies, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Deep understanding of digital, social, and stills creative production and channel best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges, think strategically, and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confidently present to mid/senior-level stakeholders. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse teams.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the small business and/or financial services industries is a plus.

  • *To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and the length of assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
