Job Description

As a Customer Engineer, you will be a key player in helping leading companies adopt and leverage Google Cloud. You will work closely with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to customers, addressing technical questions, demonstrating features, and overcoming potential roadblocks. Your role will involve understanding customer needs, architecting solutions, and providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. You will also stay abreast of industry trends and work with product teams to enhance Google Cloud offerings.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders
Ability to communicate in English fluently

Good to have:

Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems
Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures
Experience with technical sales or professional consulting in the fields of cloud computing, data, information life-cycle management, and Big Data
Knowledge of cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data), cloud market, competitive dynamics, and customer buying behavior

In this role, you will work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to customers. You will help prospective customers and partners understand Google Cloud, explaining technical features and problem-solving any potential roadblocks.

Responsibilities

Support local teams in pursuit of key business opportunities, engage customers to address aspects of the data life-cycle.
Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
Take responsibility for leading technical projects, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments, and travel as needed for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.
Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition, using techniques that include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
