Job Description

The Developer Platforms Engineer will be part of the Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP) team, focusing on improving developer workflows, addressing issues, and promoting innovation. Key responsibilities include implementing agile practices, designing architectures, and ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and speed of solutions. The role involves creating documentation, innovating solutions, resolving technical issues, and ensuring that products and services adhere to specified standards. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert (SME), build CI/CD pipelines, and support services before and after their release. The candidate will also be expected to communicate complex information clearly and build relationships with stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technology basics
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, DevSecOps concepts
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Code/Binary scans
  • Experience with Secrets management tools
  • Experience with SDLC Tools
  • Experience with Source code management
  • Experience with Artifact and dependency management
  • Experience with Containerization solutions
  • Experience with Programming languages
  • Experience with Scripting languages
  • Understanding of Developer Desktops
  • Basic knowledge of Gen AI concepts
  • Experience in Project delivery or Support roles
  • Familiarity with PPM Tools
Good to have:
  • Experience with Windows/Linux Servers and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills

Join our Engineering Team within Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP) as a Developer Platforms Engineer. Our mission is to:
  • Enable rapid developer onboarding to LSEG tools for quick productivity on chosen Cloud platforms.
  • Improve Developer Experience to enhance feature delivery cadence.
  • Unlock Developer Capacity and foster innovation by modernizing tooling and processes.
  • Ensure secure and compliant development on the integrated platform.
Tech Profile/Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technology basics (Amazon, Microsoft, Google).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, DevSecOps concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with some of the followings:
    • CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub).
    • Code/Binary scans (SonarQube, Semgrep, Blackbuck, Trivy, GitLeaks, Veracode).
    • Secrets management tools (Vault, Cloud native solutions).
    • SDLC Tools (Maven, Gradle, Selenium, Ansible).
    • Source code management (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket).
    • Artifact and dependency management (JFrog, Nexus).
    • Containerization solutions (K8, Docker, Kaniko).
    • Programming languages (Java/JavaScript, C#, Python).
    • Scripting languages (Terraform, Bash, Ansible).
    • Software engineering concepts (DRY principles, Trunk-based development).
  • Understanding of Developer Desktops (Physical and Virtual - W365).
  • Basic knowledge of Gen AI concepts (GitHub Copilot, GitLab Duo, Q developer).
  • Experience in Project delivery, Coordination, or Support roles.
  • Familiarity with PPM Tools (Clarity, JIRA, Asana).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Windows/Linux Servers and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
