Manufacturing Automation (MA) systems at Intel are designed with capability and reliability in mind, as they support the 7x24 operations of the global factory network. Our Durable Core Team (DCT) engineers work 12 hour shifts in a compressed work week schedule and our DCT Platforms engineers operate in the MA Compute Client and Storage (MCCS) service in the Infrastructure and Data Engineering organization. This role is for a DCT Platforms Engineer for the day and night shift rotation.
This team supports, installs, tests and configures a host of Windows, UNIX and Virtual Machines (VMs), plus storage and cloud hosting environments for huge amounts of critical factory data. They are the first point of escalation for our Manufacturing Service Desk (MSD) and provide Level Two operations support for platforms systems issues. They utilize predictive analysis and automated monitoring to advance troubleshooting on issues using Model Based Problem Solving MBPS methodologies.
Members actively participate in global teams to drive continuous improvement and achieve systems health goals, as well as emerging capability needs. As a DCT Engineer you need to be an enthusiastic team player - and an individual who is driven by a Customer First ethos. You should have excellent communication, stakeholder management and networking skills and be motivated to continuously learn.
This role is a combination of reactive and planned work at your desk and in the Data Centre. You will be a key member of the global infrastructure team and will also work with other MA engineers, vendors and other IT functions to land equipment and deploy proven state-of-the-art compute, client and storage technology.
This is an exciting and varied role where you will learn something new every day and will interface with our full technology portfolio. We place a huge value on the ongoing technical development of our teams, with significant investment in learning and development for each individual to support your career goals and our service requirements.
