We are Spliced Inc. and we’re looking for an experienced Lead Gameplay Animator


The Role
This role presents a unique opportunity to join a diverse, innovative team in the early stages of a truly exciting project. As an experienced Lead Gameplay Animator, you will play a key hands-on role in building a small team and delivering high quality keyframe and motion captured animations. Your role extends beyond the Animation team, involving collaboration and innovation with other departments to set and maintain the creative and technical benchmarks of our project. This role requires a strong team player, with a passion to create engaging, responsive gameplay animations that feel as good as they look!

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with Animation leadership and other disciplines, to ensure animation requirements are understood, met and delivered to schedule. 
  • Understanding the requirements and priorities, and effectively tasking and managing your team to deliver gameplay animations
  • Creating high quality animations through keyframe, motion capture edits, and motion capture enhancement.
  • Proactively identifying and solving complex animation problems.
  • Using your Leadership skills to improve communication, collaboration, and coordination within the Animation Team and beyond. 

About You

  • Thorough knowledge of modern gameplay animation pipelines, game engine tools and technical challenges.
  • Expertise in Maya.
  • Proficiency in Motionbuilder is a plus.
  • Experience working with Unreal engine in a development pipeline.
  • Experience planning mocap shoots and assisting, directing, or performing on set.
  • At least 5+ years of game development experience, with a significant focus on Motion Capture animation and pipelines.
  • Experience working on at least one shipped title in a Lead role.
  • Experience leading or managing a small or big team.
