The Manager, Product Integrity will lead the Japan PI team, focusing on product integrity for multiple business units. Responsibilities include design reviews, line reviews, packaging and labeling, testing management, and disposition for distribution. The role requires managing licensed product PI programs, liaising with WDAJ, and improving processes and efficiencies for expanding markets. The manager will also provide input on technology systems and support department activities. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, excellent communication (English and Japanese), and extensive experience in consumer product compliance and international regulations.

Job Description:

 Job Summary:

To manage Japan PI team focused on product integrity work for multiple business units. This includes design reviews, line reviews, packaging and labelling, testing management and disposition for approval for distribution in Vertical product lines. As markets expand for Japan developed items, additional volume in each of the above disciples requires additional work and related processes and efficiencies require greater management. The manager will also manage licensed product PI programs and liaise with WDAJ for licensed OLC merchandise.

 Responsibilities:

People and Process Management:

  • Review, re-establish and execute process workflows and standard operating procedures finding work efficiencies as relates to regional and global product lines.
  • Plan, manage and prioritize team’s workload/ad hoc projects as well as the review of staff’s work
  • Provide oversight and management of design and line review supported by PI.
  • Provide implementation, oversight and management of execution on PI Program requirements and enhancements for global line. 
  • Provide process input to technology systems requirement initiatives and to support department activities.

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Support the team and stakeholders on merchandise safety and compliance related topics
  • Strengthen best practices for team to execute on PI practices.
  • Provide technical input on international consumer product rules and regulations including packaging and labelling as well as any changes in current global requirements.

Collaboration:

  • Provide well-respected leadership at the Manager level that unites teams, great collaboration, as well as transparent proactivity and passion for the role.
  • Lead teams with optimism, largely by influence and example setting.
  • Provide clear, timely and effective communications and updates to all stakeholders.

 Requirement:

  • 10 or more years of consumer product compliance experience.
  • Must have recent experience working in a consumer product company with a variety of consumer product categories distributed into multiple global regions.
  • Knowledge of international consumer product rules and regulations.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to showcase those skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in ENGLISH and JAPANESE; excellent presentation and group dynamics skills
  • Able to work independently and align business objectives.
