The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the day-to-day operation of Quality Assurance activities for CAE USA, ensuring products and services meet all applicable external requirements. This role involves interaction with various departments, including management, program/project teams, customers, and suppliers, to identify and address quality issues proactively. Key responsibilities include managing a team of Quality Assurance professionals, reviewing production schedules, using quality assurance and improvement techniques, monitoring metrics, and supporting audits and evaluations. The role requires leading, training, and providing guidance on quality-related matters, contributing to the company's commitment to excellence, and fostering a positive work environment.
Must have:
  • Lead Quality Assurance team to ensure product and service quality.
  • Interface with management, customers, and suppliers to solve issues.
  • Use quality assurance tools to diagnose and correct problems.
  • Monitor metrics and take actions to ensure goals are met.
  • Support audits, evaluations, and material disposition.

Summary 

The Quality Assurance Manager is a self-motivated individual who leads day-to-day operation of Quality Assurance activities for CAE USA. The position has significant interaction across all Simulation Products and Services operational departments. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads / manages a team of Quality Assurance professionals to ensure products and services meet all applicable external requirements (i.e. Customer, ISO 9001, CMMI, AS9100). 

  • Interfaces with members of management, program/project, customers, suppliers, and CAE USA to proactively identify and address product Quality issues. 

  • Review production schedules to ensure personnel are available to support the assigned task and coordinate with the Quality Director to address any capacity concerns. 

  • Uses Quality Assurance and improvement concepts, techniques, tools, and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper practices and product deficiencies by focusing on prevention. 

  • Monitor established metrics, identify negative trends and take corrective action as required to ensure departmental goals are met. 

  • Supports estimation / proposal pursuits, internal / external audits, supplier evaluations, internal inspection, customer property administration, and disposition of defective material. 

  • Track, coordinate and conduct training for each Quality Engineer & Inspector to ensure compliance with the individual training requirements. 

  • Provide weekly status updates to the Quality Director as directed. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Direct responsibility for assigned team 

  • Provides counsel, advice, and guidance to management, subordinates and other internal groups on Quality Assurance-related matters. 

  • Provides training for new employees and helps group members develop and fully utilize new skills. 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • B.S. - Technical Science, Engineering, Statistics or other equivalent 

  • Experience performing Quality Management, or Quality Engineering duties within a third-party certified QMS 

  • Current ASQ CMQ/OE or ASQ CQE certification preferred 

  • Strong personnel management, reporting, and problem-solving skills 

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 QMS requirements 

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional business travel required. 

  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a training device 

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule 

  • Travel required (10%-20%) 
     

Security Responsibilities 

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. 

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
