Job Description

Axon is seeking a Mid/Senior Mobile iOS Engineer to join their mission to Protect Life. You will be part of a critical team designing technology that increases transparency and protects truth. You will collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and visual designers to create mobile experiences for existing products, bringing new and existing mobile applications to market. You will have the opportunity to build high-quality applications using the latest mobile technologies and provide guidance on incorporating new iOS technologies. The role involves leading engineering architecture and design reviews, collaborating with the product design team, driving the mobile software lifecycle, interfacing with cloud services, and setting high technical standards through code and design reviews. You will also mentor engineers, partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams, enhance engineering processes, build robust mission-critical software, and collaborate with other groups to deliver impactful solutions.
Must have:
  • 6+ years of professional iOS application experience
  • Expertise in Swift
  • Working knowledge of Objective-C
  • Lead mobile architecture discussions
  • Hands-on with modern iOS technologies (SwiftUI, Swift Package Manager)
  • Understanding of recent WWDC advancements
  • Strong grasp of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI)
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Solid understanding of low-level networking protocols (TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, WebSockets)
Good to have:
  • Experience developing SDKs interacting with system-level features (Bluetooth, WiFi, camera APIs)
  • Familiarity with video streaming
  • Familiarity with IoT connectivity
  • Experience with BLE and WiFi integrations
  • Wireshark or Charles Proxy experience

Your Impact

You will be part of a critical team that designs technology that has a direct impact on increasing transparency and protecting truth. You will work with a team of talented software engineers, product managers and visual designers to create the mobile experience for our existing products. Your experience shipping mobile applications will allow you to rapidly innovate new and existing mobile applications and bring them to market. You will get the opportunity to build high quality applications using the latest mobile technologies available.

Our existing products are already well established in major agencies around the globe. Adding a mobile experience to these systems will unlock even more potential for new and existing customers. Get in early to create the foundation for the mobile experience. This role provides an awesome opportunity to work on our Fleet 3 mobile, Axon Device Manager and Device Pooling Apps for phones and tablets. As part of our mobile team you’ll provide the team with guidance and direction to incorporate some of the latest iOS technologies as we deploy our mobile apps to market.

What You’ll Do

Location: Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)
Reports To: Engineering Manager

  • Lead engineering architecture and design reviews to ensure high standards in software quality.
  • Collaborate with the Axon product design team to turn mobile UI designs into functional, engaging solutions.
  • Drive the entire mobile software lifecycle, from prototyping to commercialization and post-launch support.
  • Interface with cloud services for seamless integration with all supported workflows.
  • Set a high technical standard for the team through code and design reviews.
  • Mentor engineers, fostering growth and technical skill development within the team.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Enhance engineering processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and long-term planning.
  • Build robust and reliable mission critical software that meets high standards for stability in mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborate closely with other groups to align on goals, ensuring we deliver impactful and innovative solutions.

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of professional experience delivering high-quality iOS applications to the Apple App Store.
  • Deep expertise in Swift, with working knowledge of Objective-C.
  • Proven ability to lead mobile architecture discussions, design reviews, implementation, and post-release monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with modern iOS technologies such as SwiftUI, Swift Package Manager, and an up-to-date understanding of recent advancements via WWDC.
  • Strong grasp of mobile software architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVI) and automated testing.
  • Experience consuming remote data using RESTful APIs and JSON.
  • Solid understanding of low-level networking protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, WebSockets), with tools like Wireshark or Charles Proxy being a plus.

Nice To Have

  • Experience developing or working with SDKs that interact with system-level features such as Bluetooth, WiFi, networking, camera APIs, and third-party hardware.
  • Familiarity with video streaming and IoT connectivity, particularly with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and WiFi integrations.
