Our client, a renowned children’s entertainment company, is looking for a skilled Freelance Packaging Designer to join their dynamic Branding team and support their Wheels and Action Figure lines.

This role is hybrid and based in Los Angeles.

About the Opportunity:
As a Freelance Packaging Designer, you’ll play a key role in developing creative packaging solutions and supporting the execution of new brand concepts. You’ll collaborate closely with the design, production, and marketing teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables while maintaining brand integrity. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with experience in CPG packaging, particularly in the toy industry, to make an impact on some truly exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work under the art direction of the Staff Designer, dedicating 70% of your time to core brands and the remaining 30% exploring new brands or concepts.
• Contribute to the creative process through brainstorming sessions, utilizing existing style guides and providing fresh ideas for new packaging designs.
• Ensure the integrity of designs by collaborating closely with the production team during final deliverables.
• Communicate project progress, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally to the Design Manager and Project Management teams.
• Seek creative direction from the Lead Designer as needed to ensure designs align with brand vision.
• Develop marketing support materials, creative boards, and layout presentations for new and existing business development initiatives, including trade shows.
• Work cross-functionally with teams across Structural Engineering, Marketing, Quality Control, Product Development, and overseas agents to support the packaging development and approval process.

Key Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in CPG packaging design, with a preference for experience in the toy industry.
• A portfolio showcasing toy packaging samples
• A BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent education/experience (4+ years of related work experience).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience collaborating in a fast-paced, virtual team environment.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to project deadlines and budgets.
• A proven track record of thriving in high-volume, innovative, and entrepreneurial environments.
