The ESG Analyst will be responsible for supporting ESG data collection, analysis, compliance, and reporting. This role involves strong data management skills and a focus on ESG regulations. The analyst will support the ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with current and future regulatory requirements, including data management, performance tracking, and reporting. The role requires the individual to develop and track key ESG performance indicators, support assessments, regulatory tracking, and compliance efforts. The candidate will also contribute to ESG reporting, policy reviews, and designing internal controls and training for internal stakeholders.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of ESG or sustainability experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • Knowledge of global ESG regulations
  • Experience with third-party assurance
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

How we LEAD: 

UMG is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented professional for the ESG Analyst position. This role will support ESG data collection and analysis, compliance, and reporting, and requires strong data management skills and experience with ESG regulations. The ESG Analyst will also play a key role in supporting our ESG strategy and ensuring alignment with current and future regulatory requirements. This role will report to the VP of ESG.

How you’ll CREATE:

ESG Data Management and Optimization

  • Coordinate the collection and validation of sustainability data from various sources and stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyze data to identify trends, resolve errors or inconsistencies, and develop recommendations to support the company’s sustainability strategy.
  • Manage data systems for ESG data collection and performance tracking.
  • Respond to ESG ratings and ranking requests, analyze results, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Strategy & Performance Management

  • Develop and track key ESG performance indicators across the organization.
  • Support double materiality assessments, regulatory tracking, and other compliance efforts.
  • Support decarbonization planning, including data optimization, stakeholder engagement, and reporting progress towards GHG emissions reductions. 
  • Support cross-functional collaboration on sustainability initiatives.

Reporting & Governance

  • Support and implement data governance processes for public disclosures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Perform ESG-related policy reviews.
  • Contribute to ESG reporting (voluntary and mandatory) and third-party assurance processes for all publicly reported ESG data.
  • Assist in designing and implementing ESG internal controls, including training for internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor evolving ESG regulations and identify compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to periodic ESG updates for executive leadership.

 Bring your VIBE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in ESG or sustainability in a mid- to large-sized private sector organization or professional consulting firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of global ESG regulations (e.g., CSRD, TCFD).
  • Experience with third-party assurance and ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with ESG ratings and rankings.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong soft skills and experience relationship-building across disciplines.
  • Proven track record as a team player.
  • Passion for music and experience in the entertainment industry preferred.
