Job Description

This role involves re-engineering existing applications and adding an interface layer to query data from third-party applications within a large-scale financial institution. The program migrated a legacy mainframe system to a highly scalable platform, now serving as the strategic platform for advisory services. Teams are located across Weehawken, Wroclaw, Toronto, and Pune. Responsibilities include writing clean, tested code, participating in backlog refinement, planning, demos, code reviews, requirement clarification, and solution architecture design and implementation.

Must have:

6+ years enterprise software development
Strong Front-end (React, TypeScript, 5+ years)
Java (1+ year) web/API development
Full-stack experience (JS, React, Java, 1+ year)
Write clean, tested code
Collaborate in Agile environment

Good to have:

Strong Java 8 experience
Microservices, Spring framework
PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL
MS Azure experience
Banking domain experience

Project description

Our program was started as the migration of the financial instruments trading legacy mainframe system to a new technical, highly-scalable platform. The success of the program in both the migration and creation of a scalable platform led to it being selected as the strategic platform providing full-scale of advisory services for one of the biggest financial institutions in the world. This has led to significant further investment for legacy system migrations and technical improvements. Currently, we have teams across several locations (Weehawken, Wroclaw, Toronto, Pune) on those projects.
Reengineer set of existing applications and introduce additional application interface layer, allowing to query underlying data from third-party applications

Responsibilities

Write clean code

Cover own code with tests

Participate in backlog refinement, planning and demos

Perform code reviews

Clarify the requirements with stakeholders

Participate in solution architecture design and implementation

Skills

Must have

6+ years of experience in enterprise software development

Strong Front-end experience: React and TypeScript (5+ years)

Professional web-based and API development experience in Java (1+ year)

Full-stack experience (1+ year): JS & React + Java

Nice to have

Strong JAVA 8 experience

Microservices architecture and Spring framework experience

Experience with PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL

MS Azure experience (we work with both, and there is a plan to migrate all applications to Azure)

Experience in banking area/ with enterprise programs
