As a Senior People Operations Specialist at Milestone, you will be responsible for operational excellence within the region, tailoring and executing the global HR strategy to meet the needs of the business and its people. This role will be expected to contribute to and collaborate with the global P&C leadership team, build key regional processes, champion our culture, and deliver a fantastic employee experience.
The Senior People Operations Specialist will work out of our LATAM office in Mexico City. The position will report to our Senior People Operations Manager, AMS. This person is comfortable working in a two-dimensional matrix organization, collaborating with both their local team and leadership, as well as the global P&C team and leadership.

Job Responsibilities
- Deliverables: Support and maintain accurate employee records, assist with benefits administration, and ensure HR data is up to date in HRIS systems. Help with the preparation of HR documents, including offer letters, contracts, and onboarding materials.
- Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Assist in People Operations by streamlining workflows to reduce manual effort and ensure efficiency. Continuously review and enhance processes to support scale and future growth.
- HRIS & Systems Management: Manage HR systems (e.g., Oracle and Paycom) to ensure smooth onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Labor Law Regulation & Compliance: The local labor expert for local labor guidance and regulation. Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating employment policies, programs, and procedures to align with local legal requirements and best practices, including templates for offer letters, contractor agreements, separation, and severance agreements.
- Cultural Mindset: Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys, team-building activities, and recognition programs. Gather employee feedback and contribute to creating an inclusive work environment, driving Milestone’s culture within the region.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Global Alignment: Collaborate with the Global HR team, including HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Employee Lifecycle Management, and Operations to ensure a cohesive approach to People Ops activities regionally.
- Performance Management: Track and improve key People Ops metrics, providing regular reporting to leadership and recommending adjustments to optimize People Ops efficiencies.
- Continuing Education: Stay current with local and regional guidelines regarding Human Resources trends, best practices, and employment law/compliance.
Professional Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in fast-growing startups or high-performing, fast-growing larger organizations.
- Compliance Expertise: Strong understanding of LATAM labor laws, specifically in Mexico and Brazil.
- Cross-Functional Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and within a global organization to ensure seamless People Ops processes.
- Strong Communication: Clear, concise communication skills for explaining HR policies and processes, both written and verbal.
- Results-driven: Proven ability to meet and improve operational KPIs, driving continuous process optimization.
