Job Description

The Senior Reporter will lead the delivery of high-impact news content across broadcast and digital platforms. This role requires a journalist with a strong editorial voice, investigative instincts, and the ability to break and deliver compelling stories to a national audience. The reporter should have excellent on-air presentation skills and a deep understanding of the modern news cycle. The job involves identifying and delivering exclusive news stories, building relationships with contacts, producing high-quality reports, and delivering live crosses. The reporter is also expected to provide clear analysis, uphold journalistic standards, collaborate with teams, and mentor junior reporters.
Must have:

  • Polished on-camera presence and exceptional live reporting skills.

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and driven Senior Reporter to lead the delivery of high-impact news content across our broadcast and digital platforms. This role is suited to a journalist with a strong editorial voice, proven investigative instincts, and the ability to consistently break and deliver compelling stories to a national audience. 

With excellent on-air presentation and a deep understanding of the modern news cycle, you’ll thrive under pressure and contribute meaningfully to the direction of our newsroom.

Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including travel as required, is essential.

Day to day you will:

  • Identify, chase, and deliver exclusive and agenda-setting news stories.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key contacts, public figures, and organisations.
  • Produce high-quality, engaging reports for television, digital, and social platforms.
  • Deliver confident and credible live crosses, including breaking news and high-stakes coverage.
  • Provide clear, concise analysis and commentary that adds value for audiences.
  • Lead by example in upholding journalistic standards, ethics, and editorial integrity.
  • Collaborate with producers, camera crews, and digital teams to execute stories with precision and impact.
  • Mentor junior reporters and contribute to a strong, collaborative newsroom culture.
  • Embrace multi-platform storytelling with a focus on innovation and audience engagement.
