Sr. Design Systems Designer, Proofs of Concept

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re hiring a Sr. Design Systems Designer, Proofs of Concept for a remote opportunity based out of New Brunswick, New Jersey. This is a 6-month contract position with regular EST business hours, offering $75–$90/hr (paid weekly) and benefits eligibility.

In this role, you’ll lead the design and development of theme-able proofs-of-concept for a design system supporting multiple commercial product brand websites. You’ll collaborate across teams to define requirements and produce design solutions that align with evolving standards and a global parent system. You’ll also conduct audits, create templates, and pilot end-to-end workflows within Figma.

There is no application deadline for this role.

Sr. Design Systems Designer, Proofs of Concept Responsibilities:

• Lead discovery and design efforts for proofs-of-concept using a theme-able Figma design system.

• Design specific pages for various commercial product brand websites.

• Assess and audit existing brand experiences to identify commonalities, distinctions, and opportunities for standardization and simplification.

• Align designs with evolving design system standards and global parent design system guidelines.

• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize and guide incorporation of templates into the design system.

• Pilot end-to-end design system workflows, iterating and maintaining templates to meet user needs.

Sr. Design Systems Designer, Proofs of Concept Qualifications:

• 8+ years of UX/UI experience with 4+ years specifically with creating Design Systems for enterprise brands.

• Expertise in Figma, including libraries, components, variable modes, tokens, and auto-layout.

• Experience leveraging and building design systems.

• Strong understanding of UX/UI best practices and design system strategies.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with design, business, and technology partners.
