Job Description

As Google's products and services expand, the Strategic Negotiation team secures crucial infrastructure. This role combines market knowledge and tech expertise to find solutions supporting Google's growth. Responsibilities include overseeing vendor and partner relationships, ensuring contract compliance, identifying cost-effective solutions, leading special projects, and presenting recommendations to Google leadership. The role focuses on Indonesian market needs and requires fluent Indonesian communication for client relationship management. You will articulate Google's infrastructure position, collaborate with internal teams, build strategic vendor relationships, and negotiate agreements for network infrastructure services. You will also work with Legal, Treasury, Policy, and Tax teams.
Must have:
  • 6+ years negotiation & agreement structuring experience
  • 6+ years contract development & vendor management in network infrastructure
  • Experience in colocation, submarine cables, dark fiber, network capacity acquisition
  • Fluent Indonesian communication
  • Strategic relationship building with vendors
  • Negotiating and concluding agreements with vendors
Good to have:
  • Strategic clarity in ambiguous environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Up to 20% travel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
  • 6 years of experience in contract development and vendor management across many vendors and various types of network infrastructure.
  • Experience in acquisition of services from, or business development with, providers around colocation, submarine cable landings, dark fiber, and network capacity.
  • Ability to communicate in Indonesian fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to derive strategic clarity and consensus in ambiguous regulatory, business and technical environments.
  • Excellent aptitude, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as needed.

It's a big job that involves everything from operating underwater cables to finding data center space. In this role you combine your deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to find solutions that support Google's growth. You'll work with specific teams to oversee vendor and partner relationships. Your successful management skills have the potential to impact every part of the business and save Google millions of dollars in operating costs. You'll ensure that we receive contract compliance on our third-party agreements, while identifying the most cost-effective solutions for our needs. You'll take lead on special projects, manage vendors and present your recommendations to Google leadership.

In this role, you will oversee vendor and partner relationships, maintain relationships with Google's key business units, and execute high-quality agreement with suppliers. You will lead special projects, manage vendors, and present recommendations to Google leadership. You will also represent Google's infrastructure activities in the region. This role will be focused in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate Google's infrastructure position in the region to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with internal business and infrastructure technical teams to identify and define initiatives necessary to meet Google's near-term and future needs.
  • Build strategic relationships with vendors, identify compelling opportunities for partnership or expansion, and determine specific solutions that meet commercial, technical and timing requirements.
  • Identify and conclude agreements with vendors, provide network infrastructure services and assets.
  • Lead partnerships in tandem with Google's Legal, Treasury, Policy, and Tax teams.
  • Communicate progress internally and collaborate with network deployment teams.
