Job Description

The Trade Shopper Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and executing in-store activities to engage shoppers in collaboration with retailers. This role combines shopper marketing (design) and trade marketing (execution) aspects. Responsibilities include managing the COOP and BTL budget, monitoring in-store execution, developing and executing a framework for training and retaining promoters and merchandisers, identifying retailer and shopper insights, translating insights into opportunities, providing shopper input to marketing and account plans, defining and prioritizing channels, developing point of purchase strategies, building key account marketing plans, developing and executing customer-specific activities, leading the development of the BTL portion of integrated marketing campaigns, and evaluating promotion effectiveness.

Job Description

Main purpose of the job: The Trade shopper marketing is responsible for the design and execution of in-store activities to win shoppers together with our retailers; Trade shopper marketing is a combined role of shopper marketing (design) and trade marketing (execution): Trade marketing - Lead the execution of marketing and sales plan in-store by actively managing the CL activity (marketing) calendar and business relationship with in-store third party provider; Shopper marketing - Grow the Philips brand at retail through shopper and retailer insights generation, channel’s POP strategy development, and creation of insight based shopper activation.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage COOP and BTL budget and fulfill BTL requirement of CMM, sales, and category management; ensure that COOP payments made on time and all supportive documents signed in definite timings;

  • Monitor and improve in-store execution including competitive intelligence at field level;

  • Develop and execute integrated management framework of training, motivate, and retaining promoters and merchandisers;

  • Identify and develop retailer insights (VPH) and shopper insights in priority channels/customers in priority categories with CMM and CMI;

  • Translate retailer insights (VPH) and shopper insights into actionable business opportunities;

  • Provide shopper input in the development of marketing plan with CMM and Account Plan with KAM;

  • Define and prioritize channels based on shoppers insights, aligning it with distribution strategy;

  • Classify and prioritize stores based on channel definition with sales team;

  • Develop point of purchase strategy ( merchandising, service, shopper activation, including assortment and pricing recommendation) per channel for priority categories;

  • Build key account marketing plan jointly with KAM and CMM for partner key accounts;

  • Develop and execute customer specific activities with KAM (promotion, secondary placement, demonstration, retailer's fair and events);

  • Create joint shopper marketing program with priority customers with KAM;

  • Lead in the development of BTL portion in integrated marketing communication campaign;

  • Evaluate promotion effectiveness;

  • To execute other tasks assigned by Trade Shopper Marketing Director, required by business needs.

Job requirements:

  • Competencies/skills for successful performance - Higher Education;

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point;

  • Fluent English;

  • The position requires regular business traveling to fulfill the job responsibilities specified in this document;

  • The position requires the use of corporate mobile communication to fulfill their job responsibilities.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
