Job Description
Fishlabs is seeking a Voxel Artist to contribute to a voxel destruction co-development project. Responsibilities include creating high-fidelity 3D voxel hero architecture, heightmaps for terrain, and various voxel objects (inventory, weapons, etc.). Collaboration with programmers, designers, and other artists is crucial. The role requires strong voxel art skills, experience with voxel software (VoxTool, MagicaVoxel, etc.), and excellent communication. Level art experience is highly valued, along with additional 2D/3D skills. The successful candidate will effectively communicate using visual references (storyboards, mood boards, etc.) and contribute to the studio's artistic growth.
Must have:
- Demonstrable voxel art skills
- Experience with voxel software (VoxTool or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills
- Minimum 1.5 years experience as voxel artist

Your Crew
You will be part of a voxel destruction co-development project working with external stakeholders. Together with the Fishlabs team, you will be in the center of it all, working closely with programmers, designers, and other art disciplines to make this project a great success.
Your Mission
- Create high fidelity 3d voxel hero architecture for use by a larger team imagining full featured environments
- Create heightmaps in graphics editing software for terrain creation
- Using external and internal references, create quality 3d voxel objects including inventory items, weapons, foliage, décor and props
- Communicate effectively with project teams using storyboards, mood boards, style boards, and other visuals as references
- Push overall artistic capability within the studio
Your Skillset
- Demonstrable voxel art creation skills
- Strong digital or traditional art production skills
- Experience in voxel software such as VoxTool or equivalent software (MagicaVoxel, VoxEdit, Qubicle, etc.)
- Level Art experience is highly valued
- Additional 2D (concept, illustration, or textures) or 3D skills a plus
- Minimum 1.5+ years of experience as a voxel artist, or shipped voxel title
- Good understanding of development lifecycles
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills required
- Ability to give and receive feedback
