As an Account Strategist in Google Customer Solutions, you'll be a key driver of growth for medium and large-sized businesses in the Italian market. You'll build relationships with clients, understand their business goals, and develop tailored digital advertising strategies using Google's products and services. You'll be responsible for driving customer growth, achieving marketing objectives, and delivering outstanding customer experiences. This role involves pitching and consulting with clients, developing data-driven recommendations, and staying up-to-date on Google advertising products. You'll work collaboratively with internal teams and manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their success and maximizing their potential.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, advertising, account management, marketing, or consulting
  • 4+ years of experience with digital marketing or advertising
  • Experience working with advertisers, agencies, or clients
  • Fluency in Italian and English
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in a business related field
  • Experience with channel sales
  • Expertise in launching and managing paid digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, etc.)
  • Experience strategically assessing and achieving client success
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context
  • Ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in sales, business development, advertising, account management, marketing, or consulting, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 4 years of experience with digital marketing or advertising.
  • Experience working with advertisers, agencies, or clients.
  • Ability to communicate in Italian and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a business related field.
  • Experience strategically assessing and achieving client success via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling, and competitive selling.
  • Experience working with channel sales, advertisers, agencies, or clients.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context, and achieve goals to drive growth.
  • Ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling as a client engagement strategy.
  • Expertise in launching and managing paid digital advertising campaigns, particularly in Google Ads and other digital marketing platforms.

The Mid-Market Sales (MMS) team is a critical growth engine for clients in GCS designed to grow medium and large-sized fast growing businesses in Italy. Through long-term relationship development, we’re dedicated to understanding the business goals by providing advertising solutions to drive business success.

MMS Account Strategists are sellers who serve as advocates of Google. Using a deep understanding of clients’ business goals, Account Strategists improve campaign performance, drive thoughtful Google product adoption, and build short- and medium-term strategies to meet business and marketing objectives. In this role, you will design transformative media strategies for growth based on the customer objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver against quarterly business and product growth goals. Oversee stakeholder management and build relationships with the end customer or agencies.
  • Own a portfolio of medium- and large-size businesses by thoroughly understanding growth drivers, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks, and building multi-quarter plans for achievement. 
  • Drive customer growth by delivering outstanding customer business experience and achieving customer business and marketing goals. Pitch and consult with customers proactively to support annual digital marketing discussions and budgets. 
  • Develop forward thinking, data-driven analyses and consultative recommendations that align with customer goals, and quantify high-impact opportunities with clear recommendations to present to customers. 
  • Build an in-depth knowledge of how Google advertising products work and can be used to help meet a wide range of marketing objectives.
