Springer Nature is seeking an enthusiastic Agency & Digital Intern for a one-year internship in Midrand, Johannesburg. The intern will support the sales team, gaining hands-on experience in the publishing industry. Responsibilities include lead generation, prospecting clients, assisting with sample material distribution, conducting market research, maintaining databases, participating in sales calls, preparing presentations and reports, coordinating sales campaigns, and performing administrative tasks. This role offers exposure to publishing and sales within Macmillan Education, a part of Springer Nature.

About the Role

Macmillan Education – South Africa is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to enter the working world and is hungry to learn and gain industry knowledge in the exciting world of publishing. In this one year internship you will assist the sales team and get hands-on experience as well as  industry exposure in the publishing space.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team in generating leads and prospecting clients.

  • Assist with packing and sending sample materials to Regions/National Sales team and schools

  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and industry trends.

  • Help maintain database by updating customer records and tracking interactions.

  • Participate in sales calls and client meetings 

  • Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, submissions and reports.

  • Help coordinate sales campaigns, product demos, and exhibitions.

  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.
     

Experience , Skills & Qualifications

  • Matric or Undergraduate degree in publishing studies or other relevant field

  • Good communication skills

  • Microsoft Office proficiency 

  • Ability to problem solve
