Job Description

The Associate Manager, Logistics and Customs Compliance will support end-to-end logistics, focusing on import/export operations to optimize and align with business goals. Responsibilities include executing strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the supply chain. This role involves leveraging best practices, process improvements, and technology adoption to drive growth while collaborating with other departments. The position requires overseeing import/export compliance operations for high-value product deliveries at a multi-billion-dollar scale, including daily logistics operations, customs compliance (C-TPAT, ISA, Customs regulations, HTS codes), resolving customs clearance issues, reviewing vendor invoices, and monitoring shipment exceptions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and experience with customs brokerage.
Must have:
  • 5+ years experience in Logistics Management, Import/Export Compliance
  • Experience with C-TPAT & ISA
  • Customs Broker License (Highly Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel and strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good to have:

  • Vendor QBRs and KPI monitoring experience

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will support end-to-end logistics with a focus on import and export operations to optimize and align with SSI business goals. This position is responsible for executing strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the supply chain. The associate manager will focus on leveraging best practices, process improvements, and technology adoption to drive growth, while collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless and cost-effective logistics, inventory management, and transportation solutions.

  • Support daily logistics operations (tracking, transportation, following up on shipment discrepancies for lost/damaged/delayed/misdelivered).
  • Assist Customs compliance (C-TPAT, ISA, Customs regulations, HTS codes maintenance).
  • Resolve customs clearance issues with customs brokers.
  • Review and process logistics vendor invoices.
  • Monitor incident reports for shipment exceptions and take corrective actions.
  • Vendor QBRs, KPI monitoring, and performance evaluation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 3+ years or PhD with 0 years in Logistics Management, Transportation, and Import/Export compliance or related field preferred.
  • Custom broker license, highly preferred.
  • Experience with C-TPAT & ISA custom web portal, preferred.
  • Experienced with the classification process.
  • Exercise independent judgment, critical reasoning skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • Follow-up skills, proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
  • Assertive, self-motivated, goal and result driven.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must be willing to collaborate with internal/external other teams (credit, sales, vendors, inventory, legal).
  • Must be willing to support sales with month end shipping inquiries and be available to support team off hours.

Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. Base Pay Range

$113,600 - $170,400 USD
