Job Description

Apexon is seeking a seasoned senior business analyst to join their team in supporting the NexSys Grants Management System. NexSys oversees 130-140 grant applications and manages over $2 billion in state educational payments. This position will play a critical role in bridging technical teams and business clients to ensure smooth project execution and effective operational support for web applications. Key Responsibilities include: leading requirement-gathering sessions, facilitating communication between business clients and technical teams, documenting business requirements, creating user stories, and tracking project tasks in Azure DevOps. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working with complex IT web applications and 5+ years of experience gathering and documenting business requirements for software development projects.

Must have:

5+ years experience working with complex IT web applications
5+ years experience gathering and documenting business requirements
Proven experience as a business analyst in software development environments
Strong leadership skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Experience with Azure DevOps for creating user stories
Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle
Microsoft SharePoint experience
Basic project management skills

Good to have:

Knowledge of project management methodologies
Experience in tracking sprints and ticket progress within Azure DevOps

Role Description: We are seeking a seasoned senior business analyst to join our team in supporting the NexSys Grants Management System. NexSys oversees 130-140 grant applications and manages over $2 billion in state educational payments. This position will play a critical role in bridging technical teams and business clients to ensure smooth project execution and effective operational support for web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead requirement-gathering sessions and facilitate communication between business clients and technical teams.
Document business requirements, create user stories, and track project tasks in Azure DevOps.
Maintain a backlog of work items and ensure adherence to change management policies.
Prepare project status reports and resource demand projections for management.
Delegate tasks, lead meetings, and train team members as required.

Required Skills and Experience

5+ years of experience working with complex IT web applications.
5+ years of experience gathering and documenting business requirements for software development projects.
Proven experience as a business analyst in software development environments within the past 5 years.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings, conduct training sessions, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Proficiency in MS Office (3+ years) and experience with Azure DevOps for creating user stories (1+ year).
Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (2+ years) and Microsoft SharePoint (6+ months).
Basic project management skills (6+ months).

Highly Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of project management methodologies.
Experience in tracking sprints and ticket progress within Azure DevOps.

- November 12th, 2024: 1-2 pm, 2:15-3:15 pm, 3:30-4:30 pm

Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
