The Certification QA Specialist at Scopely manages central test cases for 1st party requirements, builds training materials, and performs issue triage and analysis. Responsibilities include tracking issues, reviewing testing methods, maintaining a test case database, communicating changes, collaborating with release management, working with game team QA leadership, providing design feedback, and collaborating with the QA automation team. The role requires proven experience in testing processes and methodologies, detailed knowledge of at least one console platform's requirements (Xbox, Nintendo, or PlayStation), and experience with 1st party tools. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Must have:
  • 2+ years in Certification QA testing on Console
  • Knowledge of at least 1 Console Platform Requirements
  • Experience with 1st Party Tools (e.g., Microsoft GDK)
  • Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, TestRail
  • Knowledge of Nintendo Guidelines, Microsoft XR's, or PlayStation TRC's
Good to have:
  • Experience with External QA vendors
  • Working knowledge of all Console platforms

Scopely is looking for a Certification QA Specialist to join our Studio Operations team in Mexico City on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do 
As a Certification QA Specialist at Scopely, you will report to the Senior QA Lead and be responsible for managing Central Test Cases for 1st Party Requirements, building training material for Certification Tests, and 1st Party Requirement Issue Triage and analysis.
  • Track all issues raised by 1st Party Partners in our Failure Database, and their resolutions.
  • Review Certification Testing methods and knowledge on our Game teams and with Outsource partners.
  • Build and maintain a central Test Case Database for 1st Party requirements, policies, and guidelines and ensure it is kept up to date.
  • Communicate out the latest changes to 1st Party Requirements to the wider organization as they come in.
  • Collaborate with Release Management team to triage Issues raised that violate 1st Party Requirements, Policies, or guidelines.
  • Work closely with Game Team QA Leadership to ensure testing of 1st Party requirements is performed correctly, and the test team is well trained in how to test 1st Party requirements.
  • Work with Game Team Production and Development to provide early design feedback that takes 1st Party Requirements, Policies, and guidelines into consideration so that features are built to be compliant from the outset.
  • Work with QA Automation Team to find opportunities to automate 1st Party Requirement testing where possible.
  • Expand your expertise on 1st Party requirements and stay up to date with the latest changes.
  • Proactively find ways to share your knowledge inside the QA department.
  • Assist with daily tasks and ad hoc requests.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in Testing Processes and Methodologies
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Certification QA testing on Console
  • Has a passion for Certification testing and delivering high quality games
  • Detailed Knowledge of at least 1 Console Platforms Requirements (Xbox, Nintendo, or PlayStation).
  • Demonstrated ability in right-sized process development and improvement.
  • Experience with at least 1 set of 1st Party Tools (Microsoft GDK and Xbox Manager GDK, Sony SDK Manager and Target Manager, Nintendo Dev Interface or NDI).
  • Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, and TestRail.
  • Strong knowledge of at least 1 of the following: Nintendo Guidelines, Microsoft XR’s, or PlayStation TRC’s.
  • Technical orientation and a strong understanding of software development.
  • Knowledge of the game development process and exposure to working with shipped and in-development titles.
  • Strong English language skills are required for this role as we have a highly diverse and global business.
