As a Commercial Broker at Marsh in Auckland, you will be part of a high-performing broking unit, managing SME Financial Lines scheme accounts. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service to new and existing clients, developing insurance account management skills, and adhering to client-first principles. Responsibilities include meeting service standards, proactively identifying client needs, supporting new business opportunities, and collaborating with insurer partners. The role involves working closely with colleagues, clients, and industry market segments, requiring strong communication and organizational skills. This is a hybrid role.

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Affinity team at Marsh. This role will be based in our Auckland office. This is a hyrbid role that has a requirement of working at least three days in the office.
 

As a Commercial Broker you will be part of the high-performing broking unit in our Affinity Segment, you will be responsible for assisting with the management of SME Financial Lines scheme accounts.

The role has strong focus on providing high quality customer service to both new and existing clients. Working closely within a nurturing and coaching environment to gain diverse insurance account management skills which align with our “client first principles” and operational business goals.

We will count on you to:

  • Meet and exceed service standards as agreed in client service agreements.
  • Take a proactive approach to all aspects of service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards.
  • Support the Team with taking a proactive approach to triaging new business opportunities through the existing client base.
  • Adhere to Marsh quality practices, including following all Marsh procedures.
  • Work closely with insurer partners to negotiate favourable solutions for clients.
  • Assist Segment Leader with the preparation, management, implementation and achievement of team/unit business plans and goals.

What you need to have:

  • Relevant experience in either broking or underwriting, preferably with Financial Lines.
  • A team player who naturally maintains solid working relations with colleagues, external clients and broader industry market segments.
  • Excellent communication style able to effectively work within various audiences, adapting approach as appropriate. Displays strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills are essential to effectively manage a high-volume SME/scheme based portfolio.
  • Seeks out and acts on opportunities, demonstrates a willingness to learn and take on increased responsibilities
  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5)
