Our direct Fortune 500 client is looking for someone to join the Marketing team to develop and execute strategic engagement plans, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder management. Manage external communications, including drafting, coordinating, and tracking responses to property owners and stakeholders, while maintaining comprehensive project information.
This is a 12 – month contract + possible extension. The role can be located in any location (Orange, Osceola, Polk, Lake, Seminole, Volusia counties, and the role is on-site 3 days/week (2 days/week remote). Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.
Communications Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive strategic engagement plans to ensure effective communication and positive relationships with property owners, community members, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare, coordinate, and distribute external written communications, including letters, collateral, and presentations, in collaboration with internal departments (communications, legal, engineering, etc.). Manage the printing and mailing process.
- Monitor, track, and respond to property owner inquiries related to assigned projects, maintaining thorough documentation.
- Engage and inform key internal stakeholders about project progress, facilitating smooth project execution.
- Actively participate in project team meetings, including field reviews, pre-construction meetings, and on-site customer interactions.
- Collaborate with Local Government & Community Relations Managers to develop and implement appropriate public engagement strategies.
- Lead the preparation and execution of public information meetings.
Communications Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience OR High school diploma/GED + Minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience.
- Managed customer delivery/distribution processes.
- Presented and communicated effectively with diverse external audiences.
- Cultivated strong relationships with customers, vendors, and service providers at all levels.
- Resolved escalated situations and navigated complex interpersonal dynamics.
- Demonstrated customer-specific experience.
- Negotiated effectively to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Delivered clear and concise written and oral communications.
- Led and facilitated cross-functional teams.
- Resolved conflicts and implemented effective problem-solving strategies.

- Managed budgets effectively.
- Possessed experience within the utility industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Engaged in community involvement, both personally and professionally.
- Collaborated with community organizations in a professional capacity.
- Available for travel and after-hours events.
- Prepared to travel frequently to construction sites for on-site interactions.
- Available for on-call responsibilities.
- Capable of working in various field locations as required after onboarding.
- Required to reside within a reasonable daily commute of the assigned work location.
