Job Description

Netflix seeks a passionate Content Manager for their ANZ team. Reporting to the Director of Content, ANZ, this role is equivalent to a network executive producer or commissioning editor. Key responsibilities include identifying and securing impactful projects, evaluating scripts and creative materials, advocating for projects internally and externally, guiding creative development and production, ensuring alignment with Netflix standards and audience expectations, and collaborating with internal teams. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in commissioning or producing scripted content, strong industry relationships within the ANZ creative community, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Role

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Content Manager to join our ANZ Content Team, reporting directly to the Director of Content, ANZ. 
 

This role is equivalent to a network executive producer or commissioning editor. You will be responsible for the successful development and execution of original scripted content for the ANZ slate.

As a key member of a tight-knit, dynamic team, you'll play a central role in developing and delivering compelling original series for Australian and global audiences. 
 

This fast-paced role calls for a proactive, adaptable, and seasoned professional capable of confidently juggling multiple responsibilities across diverse projects, from early development through to final delivery. You will have a strong focus on understanding audience needs and effectively connecting creators' core vision with audience expectations. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure distinctive, impactful projects through strong industry relationships.

  • Read, evaluate, and clearly respond to submitted scripts and creative materials in a timely and decisive manner

  • Advocate effectively for selected projects, internally and externally, providing clear and audience-focused rationale with persuasive communication.

  • Guide and influence the creative development and production process, maintaining strong creative alignment with producers, writers, directors, and talent, ensuring consistency of vision from pitch to launch.

  • Oversee the development and production journey, delivering timely creative feedback to ensure execution meets budget and schedule requirements, Netflix standards, and audience expectations.

  • Actively contribute to team operations, improving processes and efficiency as part of a collaborative, dynamic environment.

  • Work collaboratively with internal Netflix teams, including Production Management, Post Management, Legal, Product, Marketing and PR.
     

Skills and Capabilities

  • Creative Track Record: Extensive experience in commissioning or producing scripted content, with proven audience success.

  • Narrative Expertise: Deep understanding of storytelling, screenplay structure, and character development.

  • Industry Relationships: Strong, established connections within the ANZ creative and production community.

  • Clear Communicator: Exceptional ability to articulate strategic creative notes and handle complex conversations effectively.

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, simultaneously assisting and/or supervising several projects in various phases of development and production (from evaluation to production through delivery)

  • Commercial Insight: Balances creative ambitions with practical business constraints, adept at managing project resources and budgets effectively.

  • Decisive: Confidently makes informed decisions, managing complexities and diverse stakeholder perspectives effectively.

  • Self-starter: Resourceful and proactive ownership mindset, adept at driving projects forward and overcoming challenges.
