Job Description

As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll partner with sales teams to showcase Google Cloud's capabilities to startups. Responsibilities include understanding customer needs, developing cloud solutions, conducting proof-of-concepts, and troubleshooting technical issues. You'll present solutions, focusing on infrastructure and application modernization, data analytics, and more. You will also prospect and acquire new clients, building relationships and serving as a trusted advisor. Success requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for the startup ecosystem. The role involves working with Google Cloud products, demonstrating integrations, recommending strategies, and leading the acquisition of new clients.

Must have:

6+ years cloud native architecture experience
Cloud engineering expertise
Experience presenting to technical & executive stakeholders
Building and maintaining customer relationships
Understanding customer business and technical needs

Good to have:

Experience migrating applications to cloud platforms
Security concepts knowledge (encryption, identity management)
Startup ecosystem experience
Prospecting and lead generation skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen testing.
Experience prospecting, and building and maintaining new customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building out Greenfield territories.
Experience working with, and passion for, the startup ecosystem.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers across the startup ecosystem. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will understand customers' business and technical requirements, and present solutions on Google Cloud. You will focus on customer opportunities as a technical generalist, spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics, and more.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure needed to implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
Lead prospecting and acquisition of new logos, creating and building customer relationships, and acting as a trusted advisor on their long-term technology and business decisions.
