POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Data Wrangler Supervisor falls within the supervisory structure of the Data Capture Onset department, a subdivision of the Integration department. The Data Capture team liaises with and takes directives from the Integration Supervisor in order to manage all data capture operations for the integration department within the Special Projects division at Company 3.
The primary responsibility of the Data Wrangler Supervisor will be to effectively oversee and gather essential materials tailored to the specific needs of the integration department; This role is critical in facilitating the creation of assets for the show using Company 3 advanced pipeline for the special projects.
Collaboration is key; the candidate will work closely with the head of the integration department, data capture team and leads, ensuring seamless communication and execution of tasks. Their expertise will be crucial in capturing a wide range of elements, including indoor sets, exterior locations, props, vehicles, and characters, leveraging our innovative pipeline and technology.
Additionally, the Data Wrangler Supervisor will provide vital support to the Data Capture team. A comprehensive understanding of industry standards is essential, including proficiency in computer hardware, camera equipment, photography, 3D modeling fundamentals, and software tools for data organization. The candidate's exceptional spatial awareness, along with a keen sense of lighting, color and design, will significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of our front-end workflow.
An exciting aspect of this position is the opportunity to travel with the Data Capture team to collect vital data for the production. The supervisor will play a pivotal role in logistics, organization, and equipment maintenance, ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations. Their expertise in hardware and software tools for processing scan data, as well as in photogrammetry techniques for reconstructing real locations into virtual sets, will be invaluable to the team's success.
Furthermore, the supervisor will be expected to mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the department. Regular training sessions will be organized to keep the team updated on the latest technologies and methodologies in data capture. The ability to adapt to rapidly changing production needs will be essential, as will the capacity to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the data collection process.
Ultimately, the Data Wrangler Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring that our data collection processes are executed with precision and efficiency, facilitating effective data management throughout the project.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Data Wrangler, Supervisor will be supervising and leading the project during filming. They will be implementing a robust backup system to ensure data security and prevent loss. They will be meticulously labeling and logging all captured data, including file names, timestamps, and camera information. They will be working closely with the VFX Supervisor and Director of Photography to understand VFX requirements and capture necessary data.
