As a Design Program Manager at Microsoft's CxD Studio, you'll drive operational and project management excellence across cross-functional initiatives. You will enable smooth collaboration on studio-wide programs supporting CxD's mission, working closely with teams to ensure projects are well-planned and executed. Responsibilities include collaborating on horizontal initiatives, facilitating project planning and tracking, managing documentation, organizing project rhythms, holding contributors accountable, developing communication strategies, and supporting cross-team collaboration. You'll contribute to better cross-product integration, stronger customer experiences, and a healthy design culture. The role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with project management methodologies, and experience in Design Operations or UX Program Management.

As a Design Program Manager supporting the entire CxD Studio, you’ll play a key role in driving operational and project management excellence across cross-functional, horizontal initiatives. This role is all about enabling smooth, effective collaboration on studio-wide programs that support CxD’s mission. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are well-planned, documented, and executed to meet objectives and deadlines.

 

As a member of our DesignOps team, you will contribute to our charter of better cross-product integration, stronger customer experiences, improved efficiencies at scale, and ultimately a healthy and strong design culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in program or project management, preferably in Design Operations or UX Program Management.
  • Proven ability to manage project deliverables and track progress with multiple teams across the business.
  • Familiarity with project management best practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting and communicating project needs.
  • Capable of managing updates and ensuring project contributors remain accountable and on-track.
  • Ability to support effective collaboration across a large, cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Agile, Lean, and/or other modern product development methodologies
    • Tools like Figma, Sketch, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project management and design tools.

 

Product Design IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.

Responsibilities
