Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety Operations Program Manager at Google will lead and manage EHS programs and projects for Google Data Centers and Technical Infrastructure. This role requires ensuring compliance with regulations, managing permits, monitoring KPIs, evaluating incident data, and executing site EHS compliance tasks. The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to address EHS concerns and risks, ensuring workforce safety, environmental protection, and business continuity. Responsibilities include implementing new EHS initiatives, improving existing programs, and providing guidance to stakeholders. The role necessitates strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years program/project management experience
2+ years managing EHS programs
EHS program management and compliance
Risk identification and mitigation
Stakeholder management and collaboration

Good to have:

Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety
Board of Certified Safety Professionals credentials
Experience managing cross-functional projects
Data Center or electrical safety industry experience
Experience with Federal, State, and Local Authorities

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in program or project management.
2 years of experience with managing Environmental Health and Safety Programs.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Credentials from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, NEBOSH or equivalent agencies.
2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience in the Data Center or other electrical safety industry.
Experience communicating with Federal, State and Local Authorities for notifications and permit conformance.
Ability to advise, coach, influence, and collaborate with employees to achieve positive EHS outcomes.

As part of the Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management (CSRM) Team, you will be supporting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program for our Data Centers and Technical Infrastructure assets. Including EHS management system, environmental compliance programs, safety compliance, health conformance and regional/site oversight. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within Google Data Center departments and contractors to identify and address EHS concerns, risk identification and mitigation. In this role you will ensure safety of the operations workforce, protection of the environment, and Google’s business. You will provide guidance with implementation of new and critical EHS initiatives and will contribute to the continuous improvement and iteration of our EHS programs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Manage EHS programs and projects to improve business operations and technical aspects. Identify, organize, and plan program activities and stakeholders in order to successfully deliver business, operational, and technical improvements.
Ensure compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulations, maintain permits, and monitor program Key Performance Indicators (KPI) performance.
Manage and execute site EHS compliance calendar tasks/requirements.
Evaluate incident data and track corrective/preventive actions to closure.
Organize and execute meetings, reports, and site plans (identify and assess operational EHS risks).
