We Offer

Join Maersk's fast-growing logistics business to drive and lead the transformation of Maersk to be the global integrator strategy within the Managed by Maersk (MbM) space.

As our Global Category Manager MbM you will own our global Logistics Procurement strategy (4PL procurement) and CHB. You will be the global responsible of the category and set direction, set up structures to drive success together with internal stakeholders and through neutral vendor selection, supporting the business needs of our customers. 

What the role is about: 

Maersk Logistics Procurement initially includes Ocean freight. You will be a driving force developing the service, planning and completing integration of other transport means i.e., road transportation, warehousing, airfreight, courier services etc. The category is the engine of Maersk's growth to become the trusted neutral partner of our customers and to connecting this strategic product with our customers’ need of partnering up with one strategic integrator. 

Specifically, you will: 

  • Spearhead the Category Maersk Logistics Procurement: You will be owner and face of this procurement category inside and outside Maersk. 
  • Own the Global Procurement Strategy for Maersk and link it to the commercial product roadmap and business requirements. 
  • Own and develop Stakeholder Management with internal Product Owners, Client Managers, Account Teams, and E-procurement Platform Owners. 
  • Work hands-on with internal tender teams to deliver on customer service agenda, including prioritizing, owning and driving tenders, i.e. the full process as a Project Manager. 
  • Work hands-on with internal and external vendors and driving negotiations, indirectly representing Maersk customers. 
  • Drive category performance, standards, and compliance by defining and monitoring key performance indicators. 
  • Develop and maintain the global procurement strategy and frameworks in cooperation with Product (Service owner), and long term, with regional procurement Maersk teams. 
  • Participate in connecting the category/product with our global transport management system and other strategic initiatives e.g., rate digitization and procurement automation. 
  • Build and lead a Maersk Logistics Procurement Community, driving engagement and best practices sharing and adoption. 
  • Document Category market know-how, procurement best practices and success stories and drive their implementation. 

Besides your category responsibilities, you will take active participation in setting the direction for our team. You will represent procurement in cross-functional strategic workstreams and ensure that we are creating a real impact across Maersk and within our supplier landscape.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate procurement, supply chain or commercial role in Maersk or a similar international company.
  • Knowledge of non-containerized transportation segment (FTL, LTL, Groupage, Ecommerce etc.)
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contractual terms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you can build rapport with people on all levels and have a top-tier facilitation and coaching toolkit.
  • Ability to drive change management in operations and digital transformations.
  • Proactive personality – you can take ownership, work independently, and achieve results as a team player.
  • Eagerness to be best in class and part of a winning team.
