The role also involves reviewing product specifications and implementing design changes. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Your role:

  • Implement procurement strategies to ensure Cost, Quality, Lead time & Delivery goals are met within APAC Non-Metals Cluster supplier base.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert with a thorough understanding and knowledge of market drivers, manufacturing techniques & right cost supplier base for Metals commodities.
  • Conducts commodity specific competitor and industry analysis to identify cost, material selection & manufacturing techniques to enhance competitive advantage for the business
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Global Commodity manager & Procurement Engineering teams in developing the commodity strategy by Identifying, evaluating, selecting and managing worldwide supplier base with a specific emphasis on business strategies and implementing across supplier base and multiple Business units within Philips
  • Monitor critical KPI’s of suppliers and provide leadership & support for elevated sourcing issues including Risk Management activities with key suppliers.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of purchasing activities between suppliers and materials management, engineering and product management departments to achieve targeted inventory levels.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements & contract management.
  • Review product specifications to identify alternative raw materials and work with Engineering to implement related design changes as well as product design changes that reflect lower cost

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering. Bilingual in Chinese and English.
  • 10+ years of Commodity experience with 6-8 years of experience with Plastics & Resins.
  • Experience and affinity with a Healthcare environment, knowledge of medical supplies supply chain aspects.
  • A track record in strategic procurement. (Negotiation, Commodity Strategy Development, Supplier Strategy Development, Supplier Relationship Management, Commodity Management, Supplier Scouting)
  • Strong analytical, business continuity planning and problem solving skills;
  • Experience driving innovative supplier relationship management.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to partner with the management teams of the Philips businesses and suppliers.
  • Ability to do 25% travel.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
