The systems are installed in ballparks throughout the country and are utilized by Officials, Coaches, Analysts, Medical Teams, Broadcasters and more. As the Baseball HQA Lead, you will play a critical role in new installations of Baseball tracking and SMART Replay systems and maintaining the optimal health of existing systems. Daily responsibilities include leading meetings with Major League Baseball and franchise affiliate representatives, leading our internal Baseball HQA staff priorities, and managing service delivery that exceeds client expectations.
Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and creativity within the team and you will be key in developing the troubleshooting and problem-solving skills of our staff, through direct and indirect reports. Your focus on maintaining high standards and facilitating growth will ensure Hawk-Eye's position as a leader in the sports technology industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation (Installs and Events)
Lead and support a portfolio of baseball-specific system installations from inception to completion.
Respond to and resolve complex hardware issues during or post-implementation, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Skillfully diagnose and resolve hardware and system issues, offering effective solutions and product configurations.
Establish and maintain quality benchmarks, strategies, and methodologies tailored for baseball system installations.
Collaborate closely with the baseball accounts team to synchronize project deliverables with external contractors and temporary personnel throughout the installation process.
Partner with the Senior Project Manager to ensure project outcomes are in line with organizational objectives and client expectations.
Conduct thorough project analysis, providing valuable insights and recommendations for ongoing enhancement.
Management of existing systems
Ensure that all documentation for all installations, including Operations Documents, Scope of Works, System Schematics and Diagrams, and Networking Requirements, is consistently and accurately updated across the department.
Establish a process for faulty hardware that includes initial investigation by the operations department, root cause analysis by the Hardware team in Atlanta, and full RMA tracking.
Leadership
Provide mentorship and performance evaluations to your team, promoting a culture of excellence.
Collaborate with hardware leadership from other Hawk-Eye sports to find improvements and efficiencies within the baseball tracking and SMART products.
Communicate with Operations Leads to ensure operator availability for installations, hardware QA, and maintenance.
Coordinate with hardware leadership from other Hawk-Eye sports to identify improvements and efficiencies within baseball tracking and SMART products.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
Review of End of Game Reports / ClickUp Dashboards
Prioritize and delegate daily tasks related to hardware quality assurance
Evaluating gaps in training, reporting processes, & operational processes that could be improved
Identifying patterns and communicating with other departments for potential solutions
Lead Weekly Hardware Prioritization Meetings

Overview of the week’s deliveries
Prioritize actionable items within the team

Leading conversations with clients around any pain points / sharing successes

Essential Skills & Experience:
Technical expertise in hardware systems, networking, and system integration, with a strong understanding of troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
Proven experience in hardware quality assurance, systems implementation, and project management, ideally within a sports technology or similar fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing both direct and indirect reports.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, working closely with engineering, operations, and client teams to align on technical and operational goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build trust with clients.
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and delivering high-quality solutions under pressure.
Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including internationally, and to work non-standard hours during installations and live events.
