In this role, you will be the key legal partner for our French e-commerce business, and will also work globally with cross-functional teams and your international legal colleagues to support our acceleration in groundbreaking new directions, while ensuring compliance and mitigating risk. This is a full-time position with hybrid office work (3 days/week in the Paris office which is ideally situated next to Place de la Bourse). Occasional travel to other offices required.
What you will accomplish :
- Lead Legal Strategy in France: Develop and execute our legal strategy for the French market, working in close collaboration with business leaders and global legal teams.
- Provide Strategic Legal Counsel: Offer pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance and risk assessment on a wide range of matters including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, marketing initiatives and new product rollouts - both in France and globally.
- Translate Legal Into Action: Analyze complex legal issues and distill them into clear, actionable solutions that align with strategic business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Build and nurture strong relationships with internal partners across Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Marketing, Tax, Privacy and Government Relations to support transactions, policy reviews and regulatory compliance.
- Project Leadership: Take ownership of and deliver on projects that extend beyond your core responsibilities, demonstrating versatility and initiative.
What you will bring :
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in law and admission to the French bar.
- 4–8 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in the technology sector and with exposure to international marketplace or platform business models.
- Full fluency in French and excellent proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish or Polish is a plus.
- A flexible, agile problem solver with strong judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships quickly and interact with business leaders with ease.
