We are looking for an engineering focused individual to join our small team based in Sesto Calende as a Helicopter Simulator Technician, working on the most advanced aviation simulators in the world. Due to the unrivalled range of simulators at our training centres across the globe, your role will be incredibly varied, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of the most modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge. Our training centre operations team operates 24 hour per day, 7 days per week, so this role will require you to be happy to work with DAY and NIGHT shift patterns. Some of your shifts will fall over a weekend, so you need to be happy to work over the weekend from time to time
Identifying, finding and solving problems in complex flight simulation systems
Checks updates and bug fixes at subsystem level with the test engineer/-pilot
Support for the integration of data, updates, software and hardware and exchange of various assemblies.
Calibration of instruments
Switching the systems on and off incl. function test
Detailed fault analysis and rectification or repair of the source of the fault / components
Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
Perform pre-flight and post flight on designated simulators.
Perform basic visual alignments.
Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
Perform administrative tasks as required.
Ideally you will either hold a technical degree or 3 years or more work experience in an electronic, avionic, or technical field as a technician or in a similar role.
Extensive expertise in electrical engineering
Knowledge of avionics is welcome, but no required
Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs preferred
Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
Practical, analytical mindset with great troubleshooting skills.
Good knowledge of Italian and English, both written and spoken
High level of communication and teamwork skills
