Job Description

As a Learning Specialist in Individual Markets, you will be responsible for providing technical writing and editing for procedures to support business partners. The role involves planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Individual Markets training programs. You will conduct training needs analysis, develop training solutions, and assess their effectiveness. You will identify training gaps, and recommend actions to address them. This role requires managing information, developing new content, and maintaining existing content within the information management system, as well as designing and delivering training programs. You will work closely with instructional technologists and provide training and mentoring to other learning specialists.
Must have:
  • Instructional or technical writing experience
  • Data collection techniques for understanding topics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong grasp of business writing fundamentals
  • Knowledge of learning and development methodologies
Good to have:
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, and Camtasia
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Experience in developing technical training materials
  • Ability to facilitate training and create clarity
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Overview:

As a Learning Specialist in Individual Markets, you will work to provide superior technical writing and editing process information to enable our Individual Markets business partners to successfully serve customers with quality and efficiency. In this role, you will successfully manage the processing of information which includes timeliness and accuracy of the information. The focus is on procedures that guide how the business performs their work.

You will play a key role in the planning, design, development, implementation, and continuous maintenance of Individual Markets training programs. You will be actively involved with the business management team conducting ongoing training needs analysis and develop training solutions utilizing various delivery methods and assessing the effectiveness of the solutions. You will research and recognize emerging patterns, summarize results, and provide recommendations for actions to address gaps in colleagues’ knowledge and/or skills. You Will:

  • Collect, organize and edit information within the information management system as the business evolves and changes are needed.
  • Develop new content to support business partners’ processing procedures.
  • Maintain existing content as the business evolves and changes are needed.
  • Manage process documentation for optimal display and retrieval of information.
  • Continuously evaluate design and function to improve the end user’s experience in the knowledge platform.
  • Design new hire, cross training, and refresher programs, as well as other initiatives in response to changing business needs.
  • Deliver training using a variety of platforms that include but are not limited to virtual instructor-led classroom, e-learning, self-study, social media tools, video, conference calls, etc.
  • Engage with business partners to understand the training needs, maintain an appropriate level of organizational literacy, and contribute to the success of Individual Markets strategic priorities.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific needs and gaps in knowledge and/or skills.
  • Apply training best practices based on adult learning theory that addresses all learning styles.
  • Consistently identify new training approaches, practices, and processes to improve efficiency of training development and delivery.

  • Partner closely with Instructional Technologists to develop digital training.
  • Provide training and mentoring to Individual Markets Learning Specialists in digital design techniques and tools.

You Have:

  • Instructional or technical writing experience.
  • Proven data collection techniques that aid in gaining a deeper and accurate understanding of a topic.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Strong grasp of business writing fundamentals and an impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies; formal design and development approaches, adult learning best practices, industry training technologies used to deploy, maintain, and monitor learning to geographically dispersed customers.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360 Suite, Microsoft 360, and Camtasia.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design and Technology, Training and Development, Communication, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant experience with developing and evaluating technical training materials.
  • Ability to facilitate training that creates clarity, and guides colleagues toward common ground and a shared understanding.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and an aptitude for public speaking.
  • Exceptional business communication skills, including the ability to deliver messaging to key stakeholders and senior leaders.

  • 0-10% Travel required for this position

Salary Range:

$67,450.00 - $110,815.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
