Your Mission
This role manages employee leave of absence cases with the support of the Senior Benefits Manager. Effectively performs a variety of general to complex technical and professional work in supporting and administering the various components of the employee benefits, leave of absence, and disability programs while maintaining a very high degree of confidentiality. Provides exemplary customer service and support to employees, managers, and HR business partners.
What you bring to the table
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Monitor the leave of absence inbox and ticketing platform (ServiceNow) to respond promptly to general leave-related inquiries.
Process and administer leave requests in accordance with established policies and procedures, including determining eligibility for various leave and benefit programs.
Communicate with employees regarding their need for leave and provide overall support throughout the leave process.
Ensure employees are aware of their responsibilities for providing the required documentation to support leave requests
Facilitate other leave requests as needed, including workers’ compensation and workplace accommodation requests.
Partner closely with the Senior Manager, Benefits, on cases requiring additional oversight and/or escalated support
Maintain complete and accurate leave records for legal compliance. This includes tracking within the internal HRIS system (Workday), working with Payroll to ensure pay accuracy during leave, and working with external vendors, such as a third-party leave of absence administrator.
Knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws, including the FMLA, ADA, and other state and local laws.
Support the coordination of pay cycle changes with the Senior Manager, Benefits, and payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of integrated benefits and resolve any issues that may arise.
Provide guidance and instruction to management and employees in interpreting leave policies, including the applicability of federal and state leave laws.
Support and administer the short-term and long-term disability programs, including educating employees on disability policies and procedures.
Support the development and maintenance of leave policies and materials for the organization, such as intranet articles and leave communication templates.
Ensure the leave of absence policy is administered consistently across the U.S. employee population.
Provide direction to employees on how to complete qualifying life event changes related to their leave of absence.
Communicate leave of absence updates to HR business partners and the employee’s manager, and coordinate return to work.
Provide ad hoc leave of absence reporting and analyses every month and as requested.
Assist with processing a high volume of repetitive and transactional tasks, as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 2+ years of leave of absence administration experience.
Associate's degree in Business, HR, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
Knowledge of leave administration fundamentals.
General knowledge of benefits and human resources practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc).
Ability to effectively convey information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with human resource information systems (HRIS) is desired; Workday is preferred.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $26.83 - $49.63 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
