Job Details

SMG Studio is looking for an experienced Game Producer. We'd start with an initial 3-6 month trial and look to progress to longer after that.

This is a role where you will make a difference and you'll be able to have a sense of ownership and pride in the output of the studio.

Our eclectic mix of games (Moving Out, SP!NG, No Way Home,  RISKThumb Drift, Death SquaredOTTTD, One More Line and One More Dash) showcase how we don't like to rest on our laurels.

We enjoy making unique, mechanically driven titles that are fun for everyone to play.

You are:

  • Have an eye for quality with the intent on making things better.

  • A problem solver and strategic thinker.
  • Someone who gets stuff done with limited oversight.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge and passion for games. Mobile games, console games, even board games.
  • Someone who knows how to wrangle a spreadsheet (asset pipeline, production co-ordination, analytics analytics etc) for the forces of good
  • Someone who can manage multiple tasks with ease.
  • Someone who makes themselves indispensable.
  • Humble and level headed with a sense of humour.
  • Able to remain cool under pressure and work to deadlines in fast-paced scenarios.
  • Australian permanent resident. (We will consider those who require a 457/TSS VISA but this requires someone special)
You have:
  • A strong understanding of Agile methodologies with hands-on experience managing technical and digital projects
  • Experience managing, reviewing, and analysing budgets and resources. Also including project scope, reporting and scheduling
  • Fluency across production tools (Atlassian, Google Suite, Slack etc)

Bonus points for any of the following;

  • Serve as a main point of contact for the project team, stakeholders and management.
  • Build and maintain project backlogs, roadmaps, schedules and other key project management artifacts across our titles and prototypes.
  • Crush those Blockers! Identify, escalate and help your team clear potential blockers that could affect timeline, sequencing or quality.
  • Manage change and evaluate risk and assess impact on project delivery.
  • Documenting the outcomes of meetings and allocating and enforcing actions on the team.
  • Organise and document beta testing rounds both local and remotely.

  • Help coach, train and support less experienced members of the project management team, both direct and indirect reports.

  • 5 weeks annual leave after 2 years (start with 4 weeks. This is fair work law in Australia but sometimes people dont realise)
