Job Description

Google's CSCO team seeks a Program Manager for Product Data Management (PDM) to collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams. The PDM team establishes standards for specifications, lifecycle phases, BOM structures, part numbers, and documentation. Responsibilities include creating and structuring PLM data, managing data change workflows, gathering information from stakeholders, resolving engineering change issues, supporting PDM team training and prioritization, contributing to operational improvements, interfacing with cross-functional teams, and conducting user onboarding. This role requires fluent English and Mandarin communication to connect with stakeholders in Greater China. The ideal candidate will have experience in program/project management, cloud/data center hardware, and ideally extensive supply chain experience, PDM, new product introduction, and product lifecycle management.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience in cloud/data center hardware products.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently to connect with stakeholders in Greater China.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 15 years of industry experience with supply chain operations.
  • 10 years of experience working with one or more of the following fields: Product Data Management, New Product Introduction, Product Life-cycle Management , Manufacturing Operations, Development or Operations Engineering.
  • Experience across all phases of product development from prototype to mass production to end-of-life.
  • Knowledge of quality management (e.g., Product Change Notice, Stop Ship, Inventory Purge).
  • Knowledge of engineering change order processes and best practices, materials management (e.g., material disposition, materials requirements planning, inventory management).
  • Ability to be a quick learner with excellent computer applications, organizational, and attention to detail skills.

Google’s Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) team is seeking a Program Manager, Product Data Management role to partner with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure the PDM functions scale to meet Google’s requirements. The Product Data Management (PDM) team creates standards related to specification requirements, lifecycle phases, bill of material (BOM) structures, part number attribution, and product documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and structure Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data, with quality, according to established processes and policies. Manage the workflow to make changes to PLM data in line with the product development processes.
  • Gather required information from stakeholders to complete work (Parts, BOMs, changes are created and released with excellent data quality).
  • Review and resolve engineering change problems, escalate risks/issues. Support Product Data Management (PDM) team with training, prioritization, and escalation.
  • Contribute to projects that improve operations relating to part creation, attribution accuracy and system usage. Interface closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams and other cross functional departments and third-parties.
  • Perform internal and external user on-boarding tasks.
