Job Description
This role will contribute to the success of Buckman’s digital strategy by leading projects/initiatives that digitize and standardize Buckman equipment.
- Leads the development of strategic alliances with partners, develops the global deployment strategy for a specific product, execution of product support plan, and helps to create the strategy for successful commercialization) including defining the business need, pricing, promotion, etc.
- Serves as a technical leader on at least one digital equipment product life cycle management projects (e.g., engineering design, product set up, costing, pricing for overall profitability, regulatory compliance, supply chain planning and coordination). Contributes to more than one digital equipment project at a time ensuring technical problems and challenges are resolved.
- Researches, evaluates and analyses equipment options, features and costs.
- Makes recommendations on make vs. buy decisions with manager support.
- Develops digital tools for equipment audit, ordering, product selector, installations and servicing.
- Gains input from users on feature benefits, options and experience.
- Assesses available options, features, costs and benefits to determine best fit solution.
- Develops requirements document for needed feature/tool.
- Produces branding and promotion materials.
- Ensures proper asset management and supply of innovative equipment.
• Leads and successfully completes regional/global strategic equipment projects that digitize and standardize equipment (QR code, Augmented Reality, standard equipment ordering process).
- Develops a project plan with timelines and milestones for testing and roll-out.
- Assesses risks and develops contingency plans.
- Coordinates with RDEMs on project plan and deliverables in the region.
- Works with external technical writers or partners to create support documentation for all digital products, helping to develop tiered support structure for equipment.
- Provides technical coaching to other digital associates on digital equipment innovation, standardization, digitization and globalization.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. or equivalent experience in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related engineering / technical field plus 7 years relevant experience OR
- M.S. (or equivalent experience) or MBA in Product Management, Project Management or related management plus 2 years relevant experience
- Experience in Industrial IoT products and Industrial automation including both wired and wireless networking skills.
- Experience with the Stage and Gate process, innovation in general and equipment innovation in particular including knowledge in product management functions.
- Experience as a digital product features owner including ensuring that product components in the system are properly envisioned, scoped, developed/sourced, launched, and supported.
