About The Job

Netflix Game Studio(Blue) is looking for a highly-motivated Senior Animator to help craft a new game and IP. This is an awesome opportunity to create an exciting game experience that connects with a large audience. Together we will build and improve upon pipelines and processes, characters and worlds, animation and motion styles. Your work would be a mix of individual contributions and feature ownership, helping see processes through to their completion. This position will work with all disciplines to bring innovative gameplay to life in the Unreal Engine.

Responsibilities Include

• Develop & document character identity and personality through posing, timing, and performance.
• Collaborate with tech art, engineers, and designers in developing creative development solutions.
• Authoring animations for characters and creatures from concept to implementation using Unreal Engine.
• Contribute to improving new development processes, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with teammates by providing and receiving creative/team feedback with the team’s collective goals in mind.
• Participate in playtests
  
  

The Ideal Candidate

• Is passionate about breathing distinct personalities into a wide array of characters
• Able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively
• Self-starter willing to find solutions and ask questions when needed
• Is self-driven, and excels in online collaboration with a remote team
• Has a keen eye for animation style and shows passion for defining motion styles
• Enjoys learning new skills and is good at sharing knowledge
• Will read through this and know “the answer to everything” is 42.
• Has expertise in:
• Creating gameplay animations with custom character rigs
• A deep understanding of animation principles and how to apply to game development.
• Developing in modern engines, such as Unreal or Unity
• Implementation experience within Unity and/or Unreal or similar game engines
• Strong knowledge in working with custom character rigs

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $90,000 - $600,000.
