Job Description

As a Senior Business Development Representative at Progress, you will be responsible for hunting and qualifying new MarkLogic and Semaphore business through phone calls, emails, and social media. You will focus on a select group of high-priority accounts and deliver a positive customer experience to generate interest in our growth products. Your responsibilities include managing inbound sales requests, collaborating with the field sales team, maintaining customer data in Salesforce.com, utilizing tools like ZoomInfo and SalesLoft, meeting outbound call requirements, articulating the benefits of Progress solutions, and setting up discovery meetings. The role requires working alongside the field sales team and targeting specific accounts to identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
Must have:
  • Manage inbound sales requests via web, email, and phone.
  • Target, map, and develop prospecting strategies to drive new business opportunities.
  • Maintain and update Salesforce.com to track customer data.
  • Use tools like ZoomInfo and SalesLoft to identify and qualify decision makers.
  • Meet outbound call requirements set by Sales Leadership.
  • Articulate the business and technical benefits of Progress solutions.
  • Set discovery meeting appointments for Regional Sales Teams.

The Senior Business Development Representative position is responsible for hunting and qualifying new MarkLogic and Semaphore business by phone, email and social media with a select group of targeted high priority accounts. The Senior Business Development Representative has full responsibility for delivering a positive customer experience that will set the stage for continued engagement and growing interest in our growth products through setting qualified meetings with target titles and personas within existing accounts and prospects.
 

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage inbound sales requests received via web, email, and phone 
  • Work alongside our field sales team to target, map, and develop prospecting strategies to drive new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales managers and sales teams to refine sales strategies and approaches
  • Maintain and update Salesforce.com to accurately track all relative customer data, business insights, and record of interactions
  • Use tools like ZoomInfo, TechTarget, SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and qualify decision makers who can utilize Progress solutions
  • Meet the minimum requirements set by Sales Leadership for outbound calls per day
  • Articulate to customers the business and technical benefits of Progress solutions
  • Interpret customer requirements, proactively act to identify solutions that meet customer needs
  • Set discovery meeting appointments for Regional Sales Teams

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.  Please note this is NOT a closing role.
  • Experience working for an enterprise software business selling to Fortune 500 companies 
  • Enthusiastic, driven and confident
  • Self-starter, disciplined and organized
  • Solid written and verbal skills
  • Competitive edge and thrives in a team environment
  • Experience with Account Based Marketing a plus
  • Knowledge of database, content management or LLM technology is a plus
