Job Description

This role involves modernizing, maintaining, and developing an eCommerce platform for a large US retail company. Responsibilities include performance tuning of the PostgreSQL database, handling incident tickets, collaborating with various teams, and finding solutions for new brand onboarding, re-architecture, and database migrations to a cloud-native environment. The ideal candidate will have strong PostgreSQL tuning skills in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP), advanced SQL knowledge, and excellent communication skills. The position requires working until 9:00 PM CET, but overtime is not expected.

Must have:

Postgres tuning expertise
Cloud PostgreSQL management (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Advanced SQL skills
Incident ticket handling
Collaboration & communication

Good to have:

Azure certifications
DevOps & GitHub experience
Experience with distributed teams & US clients

Project description

The primary goal of the project is the modernization, maintenance and development of an eCommerce platform for a big US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers each week.

Solutions are delivered by several Product Teams focused on different domains - Customer, Loyalty, Search and Browse, Data Integration, Cart.

Current overriding priorities are new brands onboarding, re-architecture, database migrations, migration of microservices to a unified cloud-native solution without any disruption to business.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Database Administrator with experience of managing PostgreSQL in a cloud, who can help to tune performance of client platform:

Quickly onboard to Customer's processes

Performance tuning on request

DBA work with Incident tickets

Collaborate with other teams and client to find the best solutions

Skills

Must have

Readiness to work until 9.00 pm CET (no need to do overtimes);

Excellent skills in Postgres tuning with and without tools and plugins / extensions

Strong experience managing PostgreSQL in any of the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Advanced knowledge of SQL Queries, Joins, functions and procedures

Networking, Infra components, Postgres settings and flags

Monitoring tools and usage of analyzing workloads and query bench marks measurements for applications

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

Experience of work with Azure

Certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure database management

DevOps and GitHub

Experience of work in distributed teams, with US customers
