We are seeking a talented individual to join us at Guy Carpenter. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Engagement Lead- Reinsurance team. This is a hybrid role that can be based in either our NYC or Philly offices.
As the Senior Vice President, Senior Engagement Lead, you will be a key subject matter expert within our organization. You will utilize your extensive industry and claims expertise and reinsurance knowledge, to offer strategic guidance and risk mitigation solutions to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
We will count on you to:
- To drive training, mentoring, and guidance within the team for all aspects of reinsurance service processing.
- Be an expert in the industry who can represent the company in client and industry speaking engagements to enhance our reputation.
- Collaborates with Legal and Compliance Departments to identify, assess, and address complex risks, reporting back to facilitate mitigation.
- To counsel on inputs for evolving the operational model, promoting process improvement ideas and solutions leveraging technology.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our global claims consulting practice.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on complex claims issues, reinsurance structures, and risk management strategies.
- Team Culture: Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough analysis of claims data, trends, and exposures to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers underwriters, actuaries, and legal counsel, to ensure alignment and seamless delivery of services to clients.
- Industry Advocacy: Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and regulatory changes impacting claims management and reinsurance, and represent the company in industry forums and events.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their unique needs and challenges, and proactively identifying opportunities to add value.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in a relevant field.
- Experience in leading timely management of tasks to ensure adherence to Client measurement Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Strong ability to understand, interpret and present complex technical information to Senior Management and company Leadership.
- 15+ years of experience in claims management within the insurance or reinsurance industry, with a focus on complex commercial lines and global operations.
- Proven track record of leadership and success in managing claims and delivering high-quality client service.
- Deep understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Ability to drive relationships with Brokers, Clients, and Markets through effective communication and delivery of technical consulting services.
- Experience in managing team and department meetings to share knowledge and solutions, enhancing service quality.
- Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARe, or ARM are highly desirable.
