Intel is seeking an experienced Pre-Silicon RTL Verification engineer for its Performance Verification team. The role involves working closely with architects, software/hardware engineers, and simulator experts. Responsibilities include performance verification through TestBench development, test writing, architectural/functional modeling, functional coverage closure, and debugging. The engineer will define functional/performance verification strategies, develop execution test plans, and drive GPU and Machine Learning/AI performance benchmarks on RTL via Simulation or Emulation. Debugging performance bottlenecks, influencing design teams for improvements, and ensuring validation sign-off against coverage, pass rates, performance, and feature goals are key aspects. Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with IP verification
  • Experience with System Verilog, UVM, C++, and object-oriented programming
  • Experience with engineering design & DV principles
  • Experience with DV methodology, tools, and flow development
  • Experience with creation of test plans, schedules, and cost estimates for design verification efforts
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with IP verification from environment development to test development to validation closure
  • Experience with Verification IP (VIP) development for Simulation & Emulation
  • Knowledge of 3D Graphics Pipeline and concepts
  • Experience in the development and deployment of verification strategies and methodologies across teams and organizations
  • Experience with CPU/GPU verification
  • Experience with EDA Verification IP development processes
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and utilities including Make, Perl, Python etc.
  • Knowledge of Mem/Fabric Interface Protocols (e.g. CXL / AXI / PCIE)

We are looking for Experienced Pre-Silicon RTL Verification engineers for our Performance Verification team, where you will work closely with architects/micro-arch's, software/hardware engineering, design, and simulator experts. As a Senior Graphics Performance Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Performance verification involving TestBench development, test writing, architecture/functional modeling, functional coverage closure and debug.

  • Define functional/performance verification strategy and develop execution test plans for the same.

  • Understand and drive various GPU and Machine Learning and/or AI Performance benchmarks on RTL via Simulation or Emulation to achieve the planned performance targets.

  • Debug and root cause performance bottlenecks in the design and influence the Arch and micro-arch design teams on appropriate changes to the design.

  • Ensure that validation sign off meets all the required matrices of coverage, pass rates, performance criterion as well as feature goals.

  • Guiding and mentoring junior engineers in the team.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4+ years of relevant work experience, or

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 3+ years of relevant work experience,

Industry work experience should include the following:

  • Experience with IP verification

  • Experience with System Verilog, UVM, C++, and object-oriented programming

  • Experience with engineering design & DV principles

  • Experience with DV methodology, tools, and flow development

  • Experience with creation of test plans schedules and cost estimates for design verification efforts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IP verification from environment development to test development to validation closure

  • Experience with Verification IP (VIP) development for Simulation & Emulation

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$133,050.00-$187,840.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
